Position Summary: The Wireline Operator specializes in handling and directing wireline equipment, tools, and instruments, ensuring safety and efficiency. Part of their job is to assess and analyze project requirements, install cables according to protocols and guidelines, control equipment up and down, conduct regular maintenance checks, and perform repairs as necessary.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Drives equipment to and from location as directed.
  • Assists in rigging equipment up and down.
  • Rigs up and operates pressure control equipment.
  • Maintains and rebuilds pressure control equipment as directed.
  • Assembles tool strings with minimal supervision.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment.
  • Rebuilds tools used in the servicing of the well.
  • Loads and assembles perforating guns with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Assists in the training of Trainee Operators and Operators.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with customer and company policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings to identify and address risks and hazards.
  • Utilizes competency processes to enhance job performance.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Hold a clean driving record and the ability to pass a Federal background check.
  • Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Promotes safety awareness and ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with customers and employees.
  • Must be reachable via telephone 24 hours a day when in an "on call" status. Must report to work within 30 minutes of notification and work at well sites for extended periods of time.


Working Conditions:

  • Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, walking, kneeling, stooping, squatting, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, seeing, and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle or feel objects or tools.
  • The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force- Occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force- Frequently, up to 20 pounds of force- Constantly moving objects.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
